A couple of years ago, I received at least one spam e-mail a day from Editor Bob. He was a funny bloke, cause his spam wasn’t about selling stuff but all those cut-and-paste sentences that created a weird kind of poetry. Today, something wonderful happened.
His e-mail always had a William S. Burroughs kind of quality to them and I actually enjoyed reading them. But he disappeared. Why, I don’t know. Maybe he thought I didn’t like him since I never replied (or clicked on the randomly hyperlinked words).
But, today I got an e-mail with this header:
from: Winston Churchill
to: billy stilnocturnal
date: June 09, 2009, 04:29
subject: Remember what Editor Bob said?
The content was just some links to cheap watch replicas, but still… The subject line! I mean, when spambots are beginning to self-reference their own history, it’s meta on a level I really can appreciate. More!
